What are ezines?

Ezines are newsletters online that people subscribe to because they have and interest in the subject matter of the newsletter.

Which ezines will we focus on?

You will want to focus on ezines that target home business entrepreneurs, network marketers, internet marketers, biz opp seekers, and affiliate marketers. This group of people are the ones who are actively interested in making money online. This group
are more likely to appreciate the value in what you are offering.

The best resource for locating such ezines is the Directory of Ezines.

What kind of ad should you place?

There are two ways you could approach this. You do it the quick way or the not so
quick way.

The not so quick way would be to place a small classified ad in our desired ezine and then track your results.

Keep in mind though, this style of advertising will drastically increase the time frame until we see our Success University signups because we have to wait and methodically track responses at each step. But this style of advertising will decrease our advertising risk.

If after tracking your results, you feel that a larger ad would be beneficial then advertise the quicker way. This style of advertising offers a bit more risk but a chance for greater gain in regards to the number of signups you receive.

What I typically do is contact the list owner to ask about their list to guage if their list is a good match for our ad.

Here is the information you are looking for:

How many mailings do they send out a week?

It's not a good idea to advertise in an ezine that sends out more than 2 solo ads per week. You run the risk of a lower response rate.

How many new subscribers do the ezines get per month?

You are looking for ezines that get a constant flow of new subscribers

Have there been ads that are similar to yours that have run recently?

You want to stay away from ezines that have run Success University ads within the past month or so.

Does the ezine owner have a list of references?

You may inquire with the ezine publisher about references that you can contact to see what their response rates have been like since advertising in that ezine. You don't need a long extensive list of references. A short list will do.

Is there an ezine archive that you can look at?

Since you will be running an ad, it is a good idea to take a look at the ezine to see what your ad would look like in that particular ezine.

Here is a valuable tip:

Ask the ezine owner for an endorsement. Doesn't have to be lengthy, just couple of short sentences.

Ask if they would include something like the following:

This is "ezine owner", the following message is from "you", a good friend and a accomplished network marketer. Please pay very close attention to this following time sensitive message.

Now what do you do?

Now you will go ahead and place your solo ad. Placing 3 or 4 solo ads at a time is recommended. Make sure you track your click thru rates on each of your ads. You will be doing this to guage if your ad is a dud or not.

For example, if you get only 30 click thrus and 6 sign ups on a $50 ad that is not a dud, it is a success. Yes you only get 30 click thrus but you get something even more rewarding……..Success University sign ups.

But if you place a $30 ad and you only get 4 click thrus, that ezine is a dud.

Keep in mind though, because you are promoting a network marketing company where you do not have any control over the corporate site,it is impossible for you to track which ad(s) are bringing you recruits.

However, based on when your ad was placed, you will be able to make a judgement on when your sign ups come occur. For me, most of my sign ups occur within the first 24 to 48 hours after the ad was placed so I am able to discern that those sign ups are directly related to that ad.

Tracking your ads:

After you place your ad, be sure to use your Adminder tracking links and keep me posted via email as to which ezines you placed your ads in so I can keep the team up to date on the team blog.

Now, all you have to do at this point is wait for your ad to run.

In summary:

Place solo ads with the appropriate ezines(From this point moving forward, place solo ads on an ongoing basis)

Why Do Most Network Marketers Fail?

Network marketing is Simple, but doing the old way (i.e.cold calling people) is NOT easy.

Don't kid yourself!

Let me explain my view of why network marketing is notorious for having a 95% or higher failure rate..

Have you ever heard of Occam's razor?

It states that the simplest explanation for a phenomenon is usually the best. We'll use this theory to explain why more than 95% or more network marketers fail.

Ready?

Most network marketers fail because the marketing methods that they are taught don't work 95% or more of the time.

So we're led to ask the next logical question, what are most fledgling network marketers taught?

Well, I can only speak from my experience, but what I was taught was to buy and cold call leads.

Now, I'm not going to say this doesn't work, but I will say is that after six months of cold calling leads for 3 hours a day with very little success this tactic doesn't work for me.

Honestly, unless you're natural born confident sales leader going into your network marketing career you'll probably have these same results.

Don't get me wrong some people are very good at cold calling leads, but most people aren't.

What happens to most people after they've spend thousands of dollars on leads with very little success after months of effort?

They run out of money. They get burned out and then . . .

They give up.

Another important factor contributing to why most network marketers fail is the type of leads they buy.

Why does the type of leads network marketers use make a difference?

Well . . .

Business opportunity leads, the leads most new network marketers are told to use, are generic. These leads answer an ad that just asks them if they want to be financially free or make money from home or something like that.

Well . . . of course they do!

But that doesn't mean they want anything to do with YOUR network marketing program.

When the average network marketer calls these generic business opportunity leads the leads don't know anything about the network marketer's business and for the most part
honestly don't care.

This leads to the fledgling network marketer hearing a lot of "NOs".

Hearing NO all the time leads to quite a bit of self doubt, both about the network marketer's own ability and the validity of their association with their network marketing company.

Negative feelings begin to harbor and as I said before eventually the network marketer gives up, usually within 3-6 months.

The fledgling network marketer's perception of their business goes from one of opportunity to one of complete doubt and negativity.

Reality follows perception, so because the fledgling network marketer believes both themselves and their business as having little hope this becomes TRUE.

That's basically why 95% of network marketers fail if you asked me.
